Ian - as a customer looking into these potential matches, it would seem a 'better fit' with Urban. Sears would definitely destroy the brand, and Urban would simply mold it a bit (or more). Urban has some great brands, and this would add to the already stellar portfolio, however without coming up with the idea themselves, they may be having to either get rid of existing management, or come up with a new "al a carte" concept to allow for all their brands to be sold within.
Who knows really, if Sears finds value in the take down, then they will make the deal happen. Let's face it, JCrew needs cash badly, and without it, they shutter. Urban has the cash, but it may be allocated to R&D and they come up with their own preppy line...
