The next quarterly meeting of the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable will be held at noon on February 7th at the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street, at the corner of Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights. GlobeSt.com’s Jacqueline Hlavenka will be reporting on the event.

-Joshua Muss, Principal at Muss Development, will discuss the transformation of 345 Adams and the future of retail in Downtown Brooklyn.

-Michael Pintchik, President of Pintchik, will describe plans to develop Flatbush Avenue and the revival of this area.

-Bob Sanna, Executive VP at Forest City Ratner Companies, will describe the development and construction of Barclays Center

Distressed Apartments Raise Risk for All

NEW YORK CITY-Single-family homes weren’t the only housing type severely impacted by the economic downturn, new research shows. According to a new study from Citizens Housing & Planning Council, over-mortgaged and foreclosed multifamily buildings increase the risk of deterioration of nearby buildings and raise costs for private owners and the city in the form of additional Emergency Repair Program expenditures.

NEW YORK CITY-Elected officials gathered at the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Admirals Row site Friday afternoon to mark the official transfer of the site from the Federal government to the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp. Along with the Yard’s owner, the City of New York, the BNYDC will redevelop and preserve portions of Admirals Row.
