HONOLULU-The proposed mixed-use development called Ka Makana Alii in East Kapolei has surpassed another major blockade. The state Office of Environmental Quality Control announced that the project will not affect the environment. Hawaii DeBartolo LLC will develop the 1.4-million-square-foot project on a 67-acre site owned by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. The project will feature a 217,000-square-foot office space, restaurants and entertainment facilities.

The first phase of the two-phase project is scheduled for launch in 2013. For the full story, go to Pacific Business News .
