ATLANTA-Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has acquired the old Vine City Publix property at Historic Westside Village with plans to open a new store there. According to the Georgia Superior Court records, the discount retailer has bought the property for $4.25 million.

The Historic Westside Village Walmart, which measures 70,000 square feet to 80,000 square feet, is the second Atlanta store for Walmart. The center, situated on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, was started by Russell New Urban Development LLC in 2005. For the full story, go to Atlanta Business Chronicle .
