Nigro Plans to Redevelop Former St. Patrick's in Watervliet

ALBANY, NY-Nigro Cos. has reached a deal to purchase the former St. Patrick's church in Watervliet. If city officials approve Nigro's plans, the land will likely be redeveloped into a shopping center.
Steve Powers, Nigro's vice president, is expecting that site plans for the project will be submitted in a month or two to the city. After functioning for 122 years, the church was closed in September 2010. Until the deal is finalized, the contract price for the property will not be disclosed.
