PHILADELPHIA-Developers will start construction on the first-of-its-kind LGBT-friendly affordable senior housing complex in Philadelphia on October 29, 2012. Pennrose Properties and Dr. Manus Hirschfeld Fund are the developers of the $19 million project financed by federal, state and city funds. The six-story structure at 13th Street between Spruce and Locust streets will feature 56 single bedroom units, multipurpose spaces, a roughly 2,000-square-foot retail space and a 5,000-square-foot enclosed courtyard.
The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013. For the full story, go to Philadelphia Business Journal .
