BankUnited Buys Hialeah Site for New Branch

HIALEAH, FL-BankUnited has picked up a site on East 25th Street from a Hialeah restaurant owner to house a new branch there. The Miami Lakes-based bank paid $1.4 million for the 18,959-square-foot property at 802 E. 25th St. in Hialeah.
Miami Latin Grill LLC, controlled by Manuel E. Costa, sold the Hialeah site to the bank. The site will eventually accommodate a BankUnited branch. As of June 30, the bank was in the sixth position for South Florida deposits. For the full story, go to South Florida Business Journal .
