The Trump Wall Street rally with the Dow inching to 20,000 continues to chug along, as markets anticipate that Trumponomics will fuel a robust expansion coupled with a dramatic decline in the punitive over-regulation during the Obama years. The biggest winners in this new era will be financial institutions including banks, securities firms and investment firms that have been saddled with the effects a stifling regulatory environment. Hand-in-hand with a reversal of these policies will be an increased demand for office space to support growth and manage costs in configured for the new work environment and technology that has dramatically changed how offices are used, especially for financial firms.

The Wall Street Journal picked-up on this trend in an article yesterday. It highlighted that firms such as HSBC, Alliance-Bernstein, Wells Fargo Securities and KKR are all in the hunt for hundreds of thousands of square feet of space in Manhattan.  Without a doubt, we are in for a re-energized office cycle in New York, and other financial districts that will fuel rents and spur additional new construction that would not have happened if Clinton had taken the prize.

Strap on your seatbelts because it is going to be a wild ride!
