In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act was passed ushering in an era of over regulation and bureaucratic meddling that has choked the banking system and the economy. The mammoth act produced approximately 24,000 pages of convoluted and costly regulation that instituted regulatory action on top of more regulatory actions over the past eight years.

Granted, the great recession demanded tightening-up oversight of Wall Street excesses, but the pendulum swung way out of bounds and the result has stifled small businesses, cut off credit where credit is due, and produced an anemic recovery over the past five years. The Administration has signed an executive order that will begin the process of unpacking Dodd-Frank and bring us more in line with the free enterprise system that made the U.S. the most powerful nation on earth.

Stay tuned…it is going to be an interesting ride as this story unfolds.
