SAN DIEGO—From working around acute-care patient situations to ever-changing technology over the course of development time, healthcare builders have their work cut out for them, Rich Freeark, SVP of C.W. Driver’s San Diego region, tells GlobeSt.com. The firm has been an active builder in the San Diego healthcare sector, having recently completed a $26-million construction on the renovation and modernization of the East Tower Nursing Unit at Sharp Grossmont Hospital just east of San Diego in La Mesa, CA. In part 1 of this exclusive two-part story, we spoke with Freeark about this project and how healthcare reform has changed construction of medical projects.
