SAN DIEGO—Safety is a top concern in creating cities, so developers need to be aware of all design elements that affect camera monitoring and what needs to be flagged as suspicious, Norm Miller, Hahn Chair of Real Estate Finance at the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at the University of San Diego School of Business, tells GlobeSt.com. Miller says safety is hugely important to all city residents after the terrorist attacks in Paris, Nice and other cities worldwide. We spoke exclusively with him about how developers should think about safety as they’re developing city buildings.
