ARLINGTON, VA-According to ATK, the firm will move its corporate headquarters to Arlington, VA from Minnesota by next month. ATK employs approximately 2,700 people in Minnesota and approximately 3,500 people in the Mid-Atlantic region. It currently has space at 1300 Wilson Blvd., called the Commonwealth Tower, which is owned by Tishman Speyer. According to CityBizList, ATK plans to add a second floor for a total of 47,176 square feet in the building. The firm did not return a call to GlobeSt.com in time for publication.

ROSSLYN, VA-If the Commonwealth Tower, a 15-story, 360,000-square-foot, class A office in the heart of the submarket here sounds familiar that is because it scored another notable tenant earlier this year: the Carlyle Group, which signed a long-term lease for approximately 70,000 square feet.

Virginia is racking up quite the track record for enticing companies to relocate their headquarters within its borders. Science Applications International Corp. moved its headquarters to Fairfax County from San Diego, Hilton moved from Beverly Hills to Tysons Corner and Volkswagen of America transitioned its Auburn Hills, MI-based US headquarters operations to Herndon.

Other recent leases occurred in Lorton and Tysons Corner. In Lorton, the US General Services Administration signed a10-year lease for 112,500 square feet of warehouse space in the Gunston Commerce Center located at 10470 Furnace Rd.

TYSONS CORNER, VA-In Tysons Corner, KBS Real Estate Investment Trust I inked a long-term lease expansion and renewal with Employee Benefits Corp. of America at its Tysons Dulles Plaza complex. The company has expanded from the third-floor into a 15,040-square-foot, first-floor office in the same building.
