Construction will soon be underway on the 95,000-SF assisted-living Joshua Springs at a cost of $17M.

PHOENIX-Locally based Brookfield Communities is readying to develop a medical and commercial project at its 750-acre Fox Creek master-planned community in Bullhead, AZ. Situated on five acres, the project be anchored by five 7,500-square-foot medical office buildings.

Furthermore, an assisted living facility called Joshua Springs will be developed next to the medical office complex. Oregon-based Strata Management recently acquired land from Brookfield Communities for the project, and is developing the 95,300-square-foot, $17-million facility, which will include 74 assisted living units and 30 memory-care beds. Groundbreaking is scheduled for February, with completion anticipated for the first half of 2014.

Near the medical complex, Brookfield Communities is also planning to develop a 10-acre commercial site to include space for a future national pharmacy retailer as well as a unique urban market and specialty retail complex. Fox Creek is on Stardust Drive, near Bullhead Parkway.

Brookfield Communities, which specializes in active adult community projects, recently moved to its new corporate headquarters at 3550 N. Central Ave. to better handle its increase in projects during the coming year.
