HOUSTON-Locally based Transwestern is making news stateside and south of the border with a major addition to the C-Suite and expansions in market coverage.
In the C-Suite, 22-year Transwestern veteran Chip Clarke has been named to the newly created post of president, Americas. He previously headed the Gulf Coast and Mountain regions for the firm.
Kevin Roberts is also filling a new position, that of president, Southwest, which is made up now of Houston, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, Denver and Salt Lake City.
In terms of market expansions, Transwestern has entered a joint venture with an unnamed Latin American CRE firm to offer services throughout the region. The venture is in many ways similar to the previous expansion the firm made into Europe through a JV with Paris-based BNP Paribas.
“Rapid growth in the firm’s size and client base precipitated the expansion in leadership,” Transwestern executives said in a statement. “As of December 2012, we had 1,873 team members in 33 US offices. The work force has grown 32% since December 2008, despite a dramatic economic downturn that created significant job losses in businesses across the country. In 2012, Transwestern completed leasing, sales and finance transactions totaling approximately $6 billion.”
