ST. PAUL, MN-Ryan Companies US Inc. of Minneapolis has been selected by the City of St. Paul to construct a new ballpark for the minor league St. Paul Saints baseball team.

The city announced the bid award last Thursday but did not reveal the identity of the other two bidders for the $54-million project, according to a report in the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.

Construction on the ballpark is expected to be completed by Opening Day in May 2015 for the St. Paul Saints, which plays in the American Association. The minor league baseball team currently plays its home games at Midway Stadium in St. Paul.

The new stadium will be built on property that once housed the Diamond Products/Gillette building at Fifth and Broadway in Lowerton. See story in the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal.
