WASHINGTON, DC-CBRE has announced a new position in its executive ranks—and a new executive to fill it. Jeffrey Kottmeier is joining the firm as director, Research and Analysis for CBRE in the Washington-Baltimore region. He will focus on forecasting, trends analysis and real estate strategy. Kottmeier joins from Cassidy Turley.
At Cassidy Turley, Kottmeier was vice president and director of Research. Prior to this position, he held positions at homebuilder, Centex, in Las Vegas and Washington, DC and at Audi of America.
Update: GlobeSt.com caught up with Kottmeier during his first hours on the job. He says that his hire and the creation of the new position is part of a larger push by CBRE to beef up as much as possible its research and analysis expertise. “If you look back 10, 20 years ago there was a limited amount of data available and our job was pulling it together for clients,” Kottmeier tells GlobeSt.com. Now, he says, data is relatively easy to procure but analyzing what it means has gotten more complex. “We help clients understand the “why” behind the numbers and help them craft the best strategy in response.”
