NEW YORK CITY-Development firms such as Related Companies and Brookfield Properties are aggressively marketing to major prospective tenants for the planned 25 million sf of office planned in the Hudson Yards district here.
Related broke ground on the first 1.7-million-sf building at its Hudson Yards project in December, while Brookfield turned the first dirt on its own platform over the rail lines and an 850-unit apartment building. The anchor tenant for Related’s South Tower will be Coach. The newspaper reports that Related is close to signing leases with SAP and L’Oreal.
Other players that own large parcels in the area that could accommodate office or residential use include Extell Development Co., the Moinian Group and Alloy Development. The Hudson Yards district, which runs from 30th to 42nd Street and Eight Avenue to the Hudson River is also slated for about 20,000 new housing units and approximately 3,200 hotel rooms, the newspaper reported.
