MIAMI—Despite retail getting hotter in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, the competition to rep the hottest retail brands is still fierce. Continental Real Estate Companies, or CREC, just won the confidence of three major national and regional retail brands.
CREC is representing several Jimmy John’s franchise groups, has an assignment with Hair Cuttery in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, and is representing national restaurant chain BGR The Burger Joint as it enters the Broward County market. CREC senior vice president Sabrina Meerbott and senior leasing associate Chris Barney are managing the tenant representation assignments.
“While their concepts are entirely different, Jimmy John’s, Hair Cuttery, and BGR The Burger Joint are all pursuing a steady expansion with similar criteria in the Miami-Dade and Broward markets,” says Meerbott. “All three retailers are seeking high-traffic spaces in areas benefiting from large employment bases and stable residential populations. Locations in grocery-anchored shopping centers are an added bonus.”
Gourmet sandwich maker Jimmy John’s continues adding new locations in the Tri-County region. Five franchise groups are searching for high-visibility locations between 1,000 and 1,800 square feet in close proximity to business parks, universities and hospitals. Hair Cuttery is pursuing strategic growth strategies that will augment its South Florida presence. BGR The Burger Joint’s ideal spaces range from 1,500 to 2,000 square feet.
CREC has built a strong reputation working with retailers looking to enter or expand in Florida. Alan Esquenazi, who leads the firm’s retail tenant representation practice, says the fact that these national retailers are growing their footprints in South Florida “signals the continued strengthening of South Florida’s retail market and consumer economy.”
