PATERSON, NJ-Greenbaum Interiors, whose clients have included kings of the court and the silver screen, has announced plans to shutter its massive showroom in Paterson for smaller space in Bergen County.

The company notified its customers of its plans to vacate a 100,000-sf showroom in Paterson in favor of smaller quarters somewhere near their trendy customer base, according to a report in The Record. The company will keep its 30,000-sf manufacturing facility that includes a 5,000-sf showroom in Paterson. Greenbaum Interiors, whose history in Paterson dates back more than 60 years, also has a 7,500-sf showroom in Morristown.

“If people won’t come here, there is nothing I can say or do to make them come,” said Susan Greenbaum Gross, president of Greenbaum Interiors. “We have to be close to our customers.”

The company has not identified a property as yet in Bergen County, but is said to be searching for 10,000 sf to 14,000 sf on Route 17. See story in The Record.
