David Lynn is Cole Real Estate's new EVP and chief investment strategist.

PHOENIX-David Lynn has joined Cole Real Estate Investments as executive vice president and chief investment strategist. Lynn joins the private REIT from his position of global head of investment strategy and research at Clarion Partners (previously ING Clarion Partners).

In his new role, Lynn will take responsibility for portfolio investment and management strategies, capital market analysis and economic research.  He will also work closely with Cole’s capital markets platform, assisting in the strategy of new products and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.  In addition, Lynn will also serve on Cole’s Executive Committee, which drives the strategic direction of the firm, and Investment Committee, which drives real estate investment decisions.

While at Clarion, Lynn directed the company’s investment decisions across multi-billion core and value-add real estate investments. He was a member of the company’s Investment and Operating Committee. He also had senior real estate positions at AIG Global Real Estate, AvalonBay Communities and the Target Corp. and has authored several books including “Active Private Equity Real Estate Strategy,” “Emerging Market Real Estate Investment” and “Real Estate Mathematics.”

Lynn received his Ph.D. in Financial Economics at the London School of Economics and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance and Real Estate from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Additionally he earned an MA in urban planning and real estate from Cornell and a BA in real estate from the University of California at Berkeley.
