NEW YORK CITY-Bank of America is vacating approximately 230,000 sf of space at 335 Madison Ave., joining a number of financial firms shedding space downtown.

Bank of America occupies several floors at 335 Madison Ave., according to Crain’s New York Business. The impending vacancy comes as CBRE is trying to retain Facebook, which leases two floors at the property. The social media firm is looking to grow to 150,000 sf or more in Manhattan, but has considered leaving the building for a property closer to the midtown south tech hub, the newspaper reports.

In addition to Bank of America, AXA Equitable recently put 400,000 sf for available for sublease at 1290 Sixth Ave. See story in Crain’s New York Business.
