Chicago SIOR Awards Scholarships to Students

CHICAGO – Five students have been awarded scholarships totaling $15,000 from the Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, the SIOR Foundation and the Cynthia L. Bischof Memorial Foundation.

   The Chicago SIOR and the Foundation awarded scholarships of $30,00 each to four students:  Trevor Arnholt from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign;  Jeff Smith from Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University; Chase Morris of Roosevelt University; K.C. Bills from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Each of the four students received a scholarship of $3,000.  

    The Chicago SIOR chapter and the Cynthia L. Bischof Memorial Foundation has also awarded its annual $3,000 scholarship to Erin Curry, a graduate student from DePaul University.

     The Chicago Chapter of SIOR 2012 Scholarship Committee included Chairman Jason West, Sally Macoicz, Secretary Roy Splansky and Treasurer Elise Couston. Scholarship recipients were presented with their awards during SIOR’s Annual Holiday Luncheon held at the Glen View Club in Golf, IL, in December.     Since 1984, the SIOR Chicago Chapter has provided over $112,000 in real estate scholarships to 66 students to recognize and reward outstanding academic performance in business and real estate courses and to expose recipients to career opportunities and internship programs available within the Chicago real estate community.    The SIOR Foundation’s mission is to promote and support initiatives that expand, educate and enrich the commercial real estate community. SIOR is a professional commercial and industrial real estate association with more than 3,000 members in 630 cities in 33 countries.
