NEW YORK CITY-By Design is taking nearly 22,000 sf of space at the 1441 Broadway tower here.
The fashion firm has signed a lease for a full floor (21,711 sf) at the building owned by real estate titan Leon Charney, according to the Commercial Observer. The space was formerly occupied by Fifth and Pacific Companies (formerly Liz Claiborne Inc.). By Design will utilize the space for offices and a showroom.
“We’re glad to have them and we’ve almost backfilled all the space in the building—they’re a welcome addition,” says Bruce Block of L.H. Charney & Associates. “They’re in the apparel and fashion industry and our building is predominately fashion. They will be able to use some of the existing build-out space on the floor.”
Richard Doolittle of Murray Hill Properties represented the building owner and Mark Kritzer of Millennium Realty handled negotiations for By Design in the transaction. See story in the Commercial Observer.
