Paramus Park Mall Moving Ahead with Movie Theater Expansion

PARAMUS, NJ-The Paramus Park mall is looking to build a new 12-screen movie theater and is now before the Paramus Board of Adjustment to obtain approval for the project.

The proposal that calls for a 2,234-seat theater is scheduled for a public hearing on April 11. The movie theater is part of a previously approved addition the mall had secured.

The mall off Route 17 has not named the movie theater operator, although a mall spokesman told The Record it is in discussions with several theater operators interested in expanding in Bergen County.

“Everything is very preliminary right now,” says Christopher Dudley, director of marketing for Paramus Park. “We have a general idea of what we’d like to do, which is what we filed plans for, and we’re trying to find out who’s the best fit for what we’re trying to do.” See story in The Record.
