PHILADELPHIA-After receiving recommendations on how to spur business growth here, city officials signed legislation to extend indefinitely a $5,000 tax credit for every new job created in the city.

Mayor Michael Nutter and City Council President Darrell L. Clarke signed the measure into law on Tuesday after receiving an 85-page report from the City’s Jobs Commission

The commission in its report recommends tax and regulatory reform and infrastructure investment, all intended to spur business growth in the city that is currently suffering from an unemployment rate as of December 2012 of 11.1%. See story in The Inquirer.
