IRVINE, CA-Taylor, a full-service healthcare design firm, has welcomed Lance Carlson of Carlson Strategy Group as principal and director of strategies at Taylor. A recognized advocate and practitioner for human-centered design and innovation, Lance will work with clients to develop strategy solutions that help organizations reach their goals and foster greater innovations in healthcare delivery methodology and human services.Carlson will lead Taylor’s Strategies Practice, encompassing visioning, workplace culture, and brand strategy among other services to promote innovative initiatives for business.Carlson Strategy Group’s diverse client work includes workplace strategy and innovation strategy work for a newly designed workplace at Amgen and development of retail strategy for Microsoft’s retail outlets, as well as brand implementation and change management services for a number of Microsoft corporate locations. Additional high profile clients include Jayman Homes, Mars Foods, Intuit, Banff Centre, Chevron Energy Solutions, and Hyundai Motors North America, among many others.  Tactical partnering on project pursuits introduced the two firms and opened the dialogue for this strategic action.“Our business has evolved beyond architecture into discussions about how today’s healthcare companies and businesses solve the bigger problems. We’re no longer simply addressing a real estate solution but helping to increase organizational efficiencies and build workplace culture. Lance, with his diverse background, is the ideal advocate to lead that discussion within the healthcare community and beyond,” said Randy Regier, president, Taylor.According to Taylor, even the Affordable Care Act mandates that are now being realized are changing the entire value proposition for the healthcare client, moving the focus to the consumer’s satisfaction.“Taylor is the perfect platform to drive these leading-edge conversations. I look forward to working with the Taylor team to discover solutions for organizations that need a strategic partner to help maneuver through the fast-moving impacts of technology, lifestyle, values and demographics on organizations and how they ultimately improve performance at all levels. For many businesses, it really is a cultural shift and willingness to do things differently,” Lance added.Prior to founding Carlson Strategy Group, Carlson was a VP with the innovation firm Continuum, and was previously Director of Strategy & Brand Design with the global design firm Gensler.
