High-Tech Mfr. Will Consolidate in Hicksville

HICKSVILLE, NY-A 15-year tax break from the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency helped persuade Designatronics to expand at 250 Duffy Ave. rather than move to New Jersey.

HICKSVILLE, NY-Score another one for Long Island and tax breaks. High-tech manufacturer Designatronics will consolidate its operations at 250 Duffy Ave., one of the largest industrial buildings in Hicksville, rather than relocate to New Jersey.

The deal is the result of a Nassau County Industrial Development Agency agreement to freeze property txes on the Hickville facilty for 15 years, allowing New Hyde Park, NY-based Designatronics to expand its operations in Hicksville, retain about 240 jobs and add 20 more. It’s expected to generate $217 million in economic benefits for the county’s economy over the term of the agreement.
