OAKLAND, CA-The Nautilus Group has plans for Oakland’s developmentally quiet Temescal neighborhood.

The firm recently spent $18 million to buy three sites totaling 261 units and more than 14,000 square of retail in the area, according to report in the San Francisco Business Times and other media outlets. The Times says there hasn’t been much development since before the 2008 recession.

“We were looking for projects in the neighborhood like Temescal that’s got the blend of housing, shopping and lifestyle where exciting mixed-use projects could make a noticeable difference and add value,” said Randy Miller, president of Nautilus.

The three entitled sites are:

  • 5100 Telegraph Ave.

  • 4801 Shattuck Ave.

  • 4700 Telegraph Ave.

In addition to its Temescal project, the firm is building student housing in Berkeley and at Mills College in Oakland, both of which are geared toward students.
