SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA-The County of San Bernardino was recently awarded the honor of “2013 Public Partner of the Year” by NAIOP Inland Empire Chapter as part of its annual REXIE Awards program.

The REXIE Awards is the premier annual event for the commercial real estate community in the Inland Empire. The program recognizes the excellence that the industry has created throughout the Inland Empire as well as the dedication of outstanding individuals, companies and public partners.

The Public Partner of the Year is open to all cities, counties and agencies located within the Inland Empire. The award highlights those public partners that went above and beyond to best support the overall real estate industry efforts for the better good of all vested parties.

“We are committed to providing businesses, owners, developers, residents and other key stakeholders with an environment that encourages job growth and economic success,” says Kelly Reenders, economic development administrator, County of San Bernardino. “We are honored by this recognition but even more importantly feel that it emphasizes the critical relationship between the public and private sector in building a strong regional economy.”

The County of San Bernardino continues to set the bar in the Inland Empire in terms of how a public agency can work as a partner and asset for the positive future of the real estate industry, explains Stephen Batcheller, partner with Panattoni Development Co. and 2014 president of NAIOP Inland Empire chapter.

The NAIOP Inland Empire chapter is the definitive resource for the Inland Empire real estate industry. The chapter is dedicated to providing leading-edge education and information, proactive legislative support, and critical business development. Combined, these objectives support the chapter’s mission to advance the real estate profession, contribute to the greater community and positively impact economic development and improved quality of life throughout the Inland Empire.

Those who hold the SLCR represent an elite group of leaders in the corporate real estate profession. The focus of the Senior Leader of Corporate Real Estate (SLCR) seminar series is the development of critical leadership skills for those positioning themselves for a greater role in their organization. The SLCR Certificate has been awarded to 204 individuals since its inception and is designed to broaden business perspective, enhance strategic approach to decision making, hone financial analysis skills, and expand a candidate’s leadership abilities.

“The SLCR certificate signifies that Mary Jane Olhasso has transcended the corporate real estate function and is a guiding strategic force within their respective organization,” said Angela Cain, CEO of CoreNet Global. “This is the direction we hope that all our members are moving toward, and we encourage them to pursue the SLCR for the education that they will receive and for the accomplishment that the certificate signifies.”
