CHICAGO—HFF has just hired Michael Bennett as a managing director in its Chicago office. Bennett will also join HFF’s national healthcare practice and focus on healthcare capital markets and investment sale transactions throughout the US.

Bennett has more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience and has exclusively listed and sold more than 250 properties. He joins HFF from Newmark Grubb Knight Frank where he was a senior managing director of capital markets. Prior to that, he was a vice president of investments at Marcus & Millichap, where he began his career in 2003.

“Michael is one of the top healthcare producers in the industry and HFF is pleased he has chosen to join our growing national health care practice group,” says Jeffrey Bramson, senior managing director and co-head of HFF’s Chicago office. “He will be an invaluable resource as we continue to grow this group and we are excited to have him on board.”

HFF, Inc. owns both HFF and HFF Securities L.P. HFF operates out of 22 offices nationwide and with affiliate HFFS offers debt placement, investment sales, equity placement, advisory services, loan sales and commercial loan servicing.

Bennett joins the firm at a promising time. As reported in GlobeSt.com, HFF, Inc. and its partnerships recently estimated that they recorded a record-high of more than $55 billion in transactions last year. This was 33% higher than the $41.9 billion in transactions recorded in 2012 and easily eclipsed the previous record of $43.5 billion in 2007.
