MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA—Developers Eden Housing, and ROEM, along with local officials are expected to participate in a groundbreaking today for 48 new workforce apartments will be available to low-income families in Mountain View.
819 North Rengstorff Apartments, by architect KTGY Group Inc., will offer 49 studio apartments, which will include one manager’s unit, and will be available to families with annual incomes at or below 45% of the Santa Clara County Area median income.
This development will provide a sustainable community for its residents while enhancing the existing neighborhood. The building’s contemporary architecture will complement the downtown location and will integrate traditional Mediterranean colors with stucco exterior walls and tile roofing.
“It’s critical that we address the supply of affordable, high quality housing in Mountain View, which is why the cty partners with respected developers like Eden Housing and ROEM,”said Mayor Chris Clark, in a press release. “We hope new housing developments like this one will broaden the housing options for anyone who wants to live in Mountain View.”
This exciting development will be environmentally-sensitive. 819 North Rengstorff Apartments will be constructed using sustainable building methods and will incorporate a number of green features designed to ensure its long-term energy-efficiency and sustainability.
To this end, the 819 North Rengstorff Apartments will pursue USGBC’s LEED Gold specification, one of the toughest industry guidelines for sustainable building and maintenance. The project will also comply with CALGreen Building Codes.
