The hotel is located on a two-acre parcel on the southeast corner of Sunset and La Cienega Blvd.

LOS ANGELES—The CIM Group and Denihan Hospitality Group have revealed plans to build the first West Coast location of the James Hotel, and the first ground-up hotel project in West Los Angeles in 30 years. The hotel will be located on a CIM Group Sunset Strip site at the corner of Sunset and La Cienega Boulevard.

This will be the fourth James Hotel in the country, along with locations in Chicago, New York and Miami. The CIM Group is designing the new West Hollywood location with two, 10-story towers and a total of 286 guestrooms. Onsite amenities will also include rooftop and lobby bars, 10,000 square feet of meeting space and retail space. “CIM has selected the James as the perfect boutique hotel brand for this location; built with warm, modern design, and enriching the guest experience through authentic, local cultural experiences and intuitive service,” says David Duncan, president of Denihan Hospitality. “As a brand, the James is mindful of the needs of our neighbors, and we look forward to becoming an integral part of the West Hollywood community.”

The CIM Group is also developing and designing an adjacent multifamily complex with two eight-story towers and 190 units. The two projects were announced together late last year before the CIM Group decided on a hotel brand for the site.

“We selected the James brand as it brings an inspired guest-experience to West Hollywood and the Greater Los Angeles area,” says Shaul Kuba, founding principal of CIM Group.  “The hotel’s attention to detail and premier amenities complements the distinctive Sunset La Cienega project underway at this legendary Sunset Strip location.” The James Los Angeles is scheduled to open its doors in 2016.
