SAN FRANCISCO—CORFAC International firms from all over North America, Europe and Asia have gathered in San Francisco for the network’s spring conference this week, where they will be celebrating CORFAC’s 25th anniversary and conducting other business designed to foster greater collaboration between participating firms and developing new business together.

Foremost, the conference will feature networking with a focus on supporting existing clients in multiple markets from a base list of well over 100 US and International companies. The list is comprised of companies with whom CORFAC firms in different markets have closed transactions in 2013 and who have offices outside of the market in which the transactions were completed.

The networking session, called “Growing Business with the CORFAC Network,” will be moderated by Kurt Walsh, a principal with ProTen Realty Group/CORFAC International in Chicago and the chair of CORFAC’s Transactions Committee.

The transactions networking will operate in breakout groups from North America (including the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America & the Caribbean) the Northeast (including Europe), Southeast (including South America), Central and Western (including Asia-Pacific) talking about office, industrial & retail space occupiers, industrial developers, office & retail developers, investors, the capital markets and more.

The networking will be reinforced at the Friday night dinner when CORFAC announces its “COR$TARs,” which recognizes the top multimarket referrals and closed transactions from the previous year in all property sectors.

“While the conference’s theme is “Technology in Commercial Real Estate”, CORFAC International has these international conferences twice per year to foster the continued people-part of commercial real estate,” says Walsh.

“Like the old adage about real estate property: ‘Location, Location, Location,’ CORFAC International believes that effective commercial real estate services delivery is based upon ‘Relationships, Relationships, Relationships.’  This year we are focused on deepening our relationships between our global partners and also developing specific programs that thoroughly address how best to serve our global clients’ commercial real estate needs,” Walsh added.

Additional CORFAC conference highlights include:

  • Honoring the 25th Anniversary of CORFAC International as a leading commercial real estate services provider (since 1989).
  • A technology panel moderated by Tom Byrne, former President and Chief Operating Officer at LoopNet from 2002 until its sale to CoStar in 2013 including technology sector specialists Dave Harris (Real CoreApps), Alex Markson (Property Capsule), Tanner McGraw (Apto), Nick Romito (View the Space) and Michael Mandel (CompStak).
  • Best practices workshops on data center brokerage services, international case studies, relationship building and more.
  • A presentation by noteworthy commercial real estate industry consultant Ken Sandstad of the Sandstad Group, who will discuss the commercial real estate industry’s competitive landscape and the most effective ways to communicate your value proposition.
