DENVER—Locally based Legend Retail Group—a partner of X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors with expertise in more than 45 major markets throughout the US, Canada and Europe—has been chosen to represent nearly 2 million square feet of gross leasing area at 10 different retail centers across the Denver metropolitan area. The agreements have been signed with AmCap, Brixmor Property Group and Kimco, three of the country’s largest retail landlords.

Brixmor has tasked Legend with representing Arapahoe Crossings at Parker and Arapahoe, a 466,363-square-foot center with 18,679 square feet available; Arvada Plaza at 58th and Independence, a 95,236-square-foot center that is 100% leased; Aurora Plaza at 6th Ave. and Peoria, a 178,491-square-foot center with 20,377 square feet available; Superior Marketplace at Highway 36 and McCaslin, a 278,790-square-foot center with 22,099 square feet available; and Westminster City Center at 92nd and Sheridan, a 337,540-square-foot center with 24,671 square feet available.
Lastly, Kimco has assigned Legend with representing East Bank Shopping Center at Parker and Quincy, a 152,282-square-foot center with 48,220 square feet available; and Quincy Place Shopping Center at E. Quincy and S. Buckley, a 44,097-square-foot center with 11,024 square feet available.
According to Brian Finnegan, SVP of leasing for Brixmor, “Legend provides us with critical local support and knowledge about leading activity and unique opportunities that exist in the Denver market.” Their assistance in leasing our Denver portfolio will help us maximize value at these shopping centers.
Kelly Greene, a partner at Legend, says, “The selection of the Legend team is especially gratifying since it comes at a time when more and more national institutional owners are recognizing the benefits of working with local boutique firms like ours. Based on our relationships and local market knowledge, we’re able to bring meaningful results to our clients by increasing occupancy within their retail centers.”
Green and Blake Larson will be working with the AmCap centers, while Julie McBrearty and Adam Rubenstein will be marketing the Kimco properties. Legend’s founding partner Christopher Burton and Larson will handle the Brixmor properties.
Burton tells GlobeSt.com, “Our role on this institutional leasing project is to serve as the ‘boots on the ground’ for the strong national leasing teams at AmCap, Brixmor Property Group and Kimco, providing strategic insight into the Denver market. Based on our extensive market knowledge, we will work to ensure that the property owners see every opportunity Denver has to offer.”
He adds that the firm’s leasing strategy will be to market strategically to the categories absent from a given neighborhood or shopping center, canvassing the area and making extensive cold calls. “Our team also networks with brokers and tenants locally to determine the right mix of retailers and uses. The Legend team deploys a unique approach, sharing information and collaborating internally, resulting in optimal opportunities for all parties. We brainstorm as a team, putting our collective ideas to good use for our clients.”
