ATLANTA—Commercial real estate development firm KDC reports it has hired industry veteran Alex Chambers as regional vice president to handle the day-to-day operations of its office here.
The Dallas-based development firm reports that Chambers will also oversee its Dunwoody 17-acre master-planned Park Center project and support the firm’s development teams on new projects.
“We are excited to welcome Alex to KDC and look forward to utilizing his immense knowledge of the commercial real estate landscape, strong law background and management skills,” says Larry Wilson, regional vice president. “Our recent ground-breaking on the 17-acre Dunwoody, GA development is a milestone for KDC and we know Alex will play a key role in the project’s success.”
Chambers joins KDC with 25 years in the commercial real estate, development, law and banking industries. Prior to joining the company, he spent two years with Jamestown in Atlanta and nine years with Cousins Properties in Atlanta and Austin, developing more than $800 million in office, retail and mixed-use projects in California, Texas and the Southeast. Prior to joining Cousins, Chambers was a real estate lawyer in Atlanta with the firms of King & Spalding and Parker and Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs. Previously he was commercial banker with Wachovia Bank.
KDC recently broke ground at Park Center, a new 17-acre master-planned project in the Perimeter Center area of Dunwoody.. State Farm is leasing 585,000 square feet in the development’s first office building, located adjacent to the Dunwoody MARTA station.
At full build out, the transit-oriented Park Center will include 2.2 million square feet of office space, 100,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertainment, and a 175-room select service hotel.
