The Ongoing Legal Battles From the Da Vinci Fire

LOS ANGELES—In this EXCLUSIVE interview, Jennifer Stein of Manly, Stewart & Finaldi gives us an inside look at the legal ramifications from the fire that burned down the Da Vinci apartment development in DTLA.

LOS ANGELES—The City of Los Angeles is bringing a $20 million lawsuit against GH Palmer Associates, the developer of the Da Vinci apartment development that incurred a massive fire. Arson is officially the cause of the fire, which destroyed the development and damaged several neighboring buildings, including the headquarter office of law firm Lewis Brisbois; however, the city says that the developer is also negligent. To find out more about the case and how developers should protect themselves from such legal action, we sat down with attorney Jennifer Stein of Manly, Stewart & Finaldi, a firm that specializes in real estate litigation but that is not directly involved in the case. Here she gives us the inside scoop of the developer’s legal battles.
