Prologis Sheds Big Industrial Asset

LOS ANGELES—The industrial investor sells the 22-acre Carson Industrial Center to an institutional buyer for, according to industry sources, more than $50 million.

LOS ANGELES—Prologis has sold the Carson Industrial Center in Carson, CA, to an institutional buyer. The massive property sits on 22 acres and has 12 separate buildings totaling 450,000 square feet. The purchase price and the name of the buyer were not disclosed, however, sources unrelated to the deal tell GlobeSt.com that Deutsche AWM purchased the property for more than $50 million.

“This was a class-B asset in an A-plus location,” Jeffrey Chiate, executive director at Cushman & Wakefield, tells GlobeSt.com. “It really shows the strength of the South Bay market. It is the strongest industrial market in the nation.” Chiate represented the seller in the transaction along with Jeffrey Cole and Ed Hernandez.
