LOS ANGELES—Urban Commons has announced its renovation plans for the Queen Mary. The $15 million renovation will touch the entire vessel, from the guestrooms to the common areas to both modernize the Art Deco-style ship and restore it to its “glory days,” according to the firm. Urban Commons acquired the property’s 66-year master lease earlier this year, and will begin the renovation program later this year. To find out more about the project, Urban Common’s vision and the City’s role in the renovation, we sat down with Taylor Woods, founder of Urban Commons, for an exclusive interview.
