SAN DIEGO—Retail is thriving in cities and towns throughout San Bernardino County, which has proven to be friendly for both retailers and for retail developers. At ICSC Western States, we sat down with Soua Vang, the senior economic coordinator for San Bernardino County, to discuss the retail growth in the market and how the county has been able to attract both retailers and developers. With a median age of 32, the County has continued to attract millennials and young families.

In this exclusive video interview, Vang gives some recent case study examples of retail projects to show which segments have flourished and which the county is still hoping to attract, as well as how population growth in the market has created demand for new retail models. She also shares more on the over 1 million square feet of retail space now in development. Her insights offer a great look inside a newly thriving retail market.
