LOS ANGELES—Having an advisor to help you understand your real estate portfolio, manage your real estate portfolio and provide strong transactional support are becoming necessary assets in today’s global corporate world. At the recent Lee & Associates Broker Summit in Las Vegas, corporate solutions experts Kenneth Salzman and John DeCouto of Lee & Associates and James Southey of Gerald Eve, Lee & Associates’ UK partner, sat down for an exclusive interview to talk about the corporate solutions platform and why these services can be essential.

Corporate solutions is going to become even more crucial next year as the result of increasing regulations across many key international and domestic markets. DeCouto says that there are several new regulations coming into effect, including revenue recognition for publically traded companies, lease accounting and regulations from governmental authorities. “These will affect the way that businesses manage their business, and real estate is a big part of that,” says DeCouto in the interview. Southey also outlines new regulations in the UK that will go into effect next year and may affect businesses and international partnerships.

The corporate solutions specialists work internationally for companies with global portfolios, which has made the partnership between the two firms an important element to the business and has helped to better service clients. Southey, Salzman and DeCouto discuss the partnership, which was announced a year ago, and a recent trip that they took to Dublin to meet with European partners. The partnership has created an opportunity to deliver better services across both continents, says DeCouto, and they will continue to grow the partnership with more meetings planned throughout the coming year.
