Circa-1909 Scanlan Gets Co-Working Upgrade

HOUSTON—The team’s challenge was dealing with 100 years of build-outs, but the aged building materials were incorporated into the overall design to create an industrial and modern aesthetic.

Office rehab Method Architecture preserved the building’s original marble and wood flooring.

HOUSTON—Constructed more than a century ago in 1909, the Scanlan Building reaches 11 stories, prominently situated on the intersection of Main and Preston Streets in downtown. It was purchased in late 2013 by Chicago-based Level Office.

Method Architecture recently completed an interior renovation within the iconic building for Level Office. The suites within the Scanlan Building are Level Office’s third Houston location.
