Atlantans Want Urban, Or Urban-Like

People want to work in a space “that has a good feeling,” CFLane’s Byron Cocke told RealShare attendees.

ATLANTA—Atlanta has a decided preference for urban or urban-like office space. That was among the opinions shared by a panel analyzing development and design trends at RealShare Atlanta on Thursday. Major new projects clearly illustrate that.

“From an office perspective, the location may be different but there is a preference for either an urban location or one with urban characteristics,” said Alex Chambers, regional vice president for KDC. “Avalon is not urban, but it has some urban characteristics. We [companies] used to run from MARTA, but now MARTA is an actual requirement. You have to be on it or be able to connect to it easily.”
