Europe Projects Sweep MIPIM Awards

The Warsaw Spire won in the office category over projects in London, Rome and Shenzhen.

CANNES, FRANCE—Winnowing 200-plus entries down to 44 finalists and, ultimately, 11 winners proved an especially tall order this year, said Cushman & Wakefield’s John Forrester in a video introducing the 27th annual MIPIM Awards. “The quality is rising every year,” said Forrester, EMEA CEO for Cushman & Wakefield and chair of the jury for this year’s awards. The results were announced at a gala ceremony this past Thursday in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

Projects across Europe represented eight of the 11 property-type winners—while a ninth one, the Beyazit State Library in Istanbul, came away with the Special Jury Award. Belgium was home to three of the winning projects; all three included the firm of Jaspers-Eyers Architects as part of their teams.
