GlenpointeTEANECK, NJ—Alfred Sanzari Enterprises has completed of four lease transactions totaling approximately 18,350 square feet at Glenpointe in Teaneck. The deals, comprised of both new leases and renewals, reaffirm the mixed-use property’s appeal as Northern New Jersey’s premier business addresses.In the largest transaction, Hanwha Techwin America signed a lease for 13,000 square feet at Glenpointe Centre West, located at 500 Frank W. Burr Blvd. The lease signing marks the security solutions firm’s expansion and relocation from nearby Ridgefield Park. Sanzari was represented in the transaction by the Cushman & Wakefield team of Richard Baumstein, Marc Graham and Christian Politan. The tenant was represented by Rob Norton of CBRE. Additionally, PhotoScribe Technologies leased 1,900 square feet at Glenpointe Centre East, located at 300 Frank W. Burr Blvd., relocating from New York City. Also at Glenpointe Centre East, PriceManager and Advance Mortgage Corp. renewed leases for 1,950 square feet and 1,500 square feet, respectively.

ephrata commons-1Ephrata Township, PA—A joint venture partnership between the Heidenberg Properties Group and Strategic Real Estate Partners has acquired the Ephrata Commons Shopping Center here for $6.1 million. Redner’s Markets anchors the 54,810 square foot shopping center. Inline tenants of the shopping center include Tokyo Asian Cuisine, RadioShack, Cecilia’s Beauty Salon, Wild Wings Pizza & Things, and Gehman Jewelers.

NEW YORK CITY—Apple Bank for Savings has signed a lease to become the latest retailer at Neptune/Sixth, Cammeby’s new mixed-use neighborhood destination at 532 Neptune Ave. and 626 Sheepshead Bay Rd. in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn. Currently, Apple is occupying temporary space at 532 Neptune Ave. while its new space within Neptune/Sixth—totaling approximately 2,800 square feet at the corner of Neptune Avenue and W. 5th Street—is constructed. The lease comes on the heels of Cammeby’s announcement that CVS Pharmacy has also committed to ground-floor retail space at 532 Neptune Avenue within Neptune/Sixth. Both CVS and Apple Bank had previously been tenants of the former shopping center property that Neptune/Sixth will encompass.

CAMBRIDGE, MA—Alexandria Real Estate Equities has become the first and only REIT to be named a “First-in-Class Fitwel Champion.” The REIT focused on collaborative science and technology campuses in urban settings has earned five Fitwel three-star ratings—demonstrating the highest levels of occupant health and wellness—at its location here and in San Francisco, New York City and San Diego. Operated by the Center for Active Design, the ratings program evaluates all building and office environment features, such as proximity to public transit, access to fitness facilities, design of outdoor spaces, indoor air quality and healthy food options. Alexandria will use the ratings to implement improvements across its Class A properties.

Stamford, CT—Cushman & Wakefield’s office here held its fourth annual Bowl-a-thon on November 15th to benefit local non-profit organization, Brighter Lives for Kids Foundation, which provides education and opportunities for children in Bridgeport, CT. With nearly 160 attendees and support from corporate sponsors—including RFR Stamford, Signature Construction and Faros Properties—the fundraiser raised over $56,000, which will go towards (among other things) purchasing 90 books for Cesar A. Battalla, a local elementary school.
