PHILADELPHIA—The Building Owners and Managers Association Philadelphia named One Liberty Place and The Shops at Liberty Place as winners of The Outstanding Building of the Year Awards.  The TOBY Awards recognize excellence in building operation and property management.

One Liberty Place and The Shops at Liberty Place are both owned by Metropolis Investment Holdings and managed by Cushman & Wakefield.

For the second consecutive year, The Shops at Liberty Place received the TOBY Award for the Urban Retail category.  One Liberty Place received the TOBY Award for the Over 1 Million Square Feet category, along with a Best of the Best Award for Best Infrastructure and the Grand TOBY Award, presented to the building with the highest overall score in the competition.

One Liberty Place and The Shops of Liberty Place will continue onto the Regional TOBY Awards, held in April 2017, where they will compete with properties from the 17 cities that represent the BOMA’s MidAtlantic Conference (MAC) Region.

Built in 1987, the property was designed by internationally acclaimed architect Helmut Jahn of Murphy/Jahn. One Liberty Place is a 62-story, 1.2 million square-foot class A office building.  One Liberty Place was recently designated LEED Silver – LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance.

Also designed by Murphy/Jahn, The Shops at Liberty Place is a 2-story, 144,600 square-foot high luxury and retail complex nestled between the One and Two Liberty Place towers.  Located in the Center City business district, The Shops at Liberty Place features a round atrium topped by a tetracontagon glass dome allowing views and ample natural lighting.
