Chicago Beverage Taps Financing Deals

CHICAGO-An Empowerment Zone bond and tax increment financing will fund 90% of a $6.5-million expansion and renovation of the beer distributor's warehouse at 441 N. Kilbourn Ave. Another 78,000 sf will be added.

The project will keep 167 jobs in the North Austin neighborhood as well as create a projected 25 new jobs over the next five years. In addition, 25 construction workers will build the project, which expands Chicago Beverage Systems' building at 441 N. Kilbourn Ave. to 300,000 sf.

Chicago Beverage Systems is the largest beer distributor in the city, distributing to stadiums and ballparks in addition to taverns, restaurants and chain stores.
