Tysons Corner Makes Room for 101,000-sf AMC Movie Theater

MCLEAN, VA-Plans to bring a new 18-screen movie theater to the 1.9 million-sf Tysons Corner Center shopping mall are in the works between property co-owner and manager Wilmorite Properties Inc. and AMC Entertainment Inc.

Tysons Corner Center is located just outside of Washington, DC and an estimated 20 million customers peruse the grand mall's 250 retail options every year. "We know our shoppers deserve the best and we are delighted with the addition of AMC Theatres," Wilmorite president and CEO John Anderson says. "The expansion to Tysons Corner Center will offer a number of expanded options for exciting entertainment, dining and shopping."

The movie theater is expected to open the curtains on its 18 screens in August of 2005.
