Continental Refrigerated Services also will have the ability to expand its new facility to 500,000 sf. However, it will lease all but 50,000 sf to start, with occupancy set for March 2004.
Tinley Park-based TCB Development bought 200 acres interstates I-80 and I-57 in a Will County tax increment financing district in the spring.
"The location of this site is great from a transportation standpoint, which is vital to the food storage business, and the local community will benefit from the employment opportunities that will emerge from this development," says Continental Refrigerated Services president John Pluciennik.
TCB Development has five business parks here and in the southwest suburbs of Mokena, Orland Park and Tinley Park, with 1 million sf of space.
The building was designed by Johnson Architects.
