Loring and Mayer say Holland & Knight's fee schedule is more competitive than their former firm. Loring has experience representing commercial and residential developers, as well as real estate finance. Mayer's practice includes acquisition, financing, development, leasing, operation, management and disposition of real estate. The team's client list has included property owners as well as tenants, along with developers, institutional lenders, pension funds and REITs.

Opened in 2000 with 38 attorneys, Holland & Knight's office at 55 W. Monroe St. is now home to 160, making it the second-largest in its 25 US offices. Holland & Knight executive partner Steven M. Elrod says the move is in response to client demand for legal services involving commercial real estate deals.
