Matthes is co-founder of Newport Partners, an Oncor company. He began a 17-year commercial real estate career in Trammell Crow's Tampa Bay office, where he was involved in leasing and development.
"Dave has an advantage because he is very familiar with Oncor and has a definite appreciation for the challenges and opportunities associated with this leadership role in a rapidly changing industry," says Jack Box, chairman of Oncor, a collection of privately owned commercial real estate companies in more than 200 markets.
The new job means a move from Tampa to Chicago for Matthes. "Traveling the country for the last several years on behalf of my private clients, I depended on Oncor companies in many cities to provide critical market insight and a wide range of specialized services, making them the optimum partners in many situations," Matthes says.
